Teddy Roosevelt to Churches:
I'm in the middle of Roosevelt's Autobiography and enjoying it immensely.
Roosevelt makes the following statement about the governing of the New York City Police Department, of which he was once Commissioner. It struck me how much it also applies to the governing of churches.
Check it:
"The form of government of the Police Department at that time was such
as to make it a matter of extreme difficulty to get good results. It
represented that device of old-school American political thought, the
desire to establish checks and balances so elaborate that no man shall
have power enough to do anything very bad. In practice this always
means that no man has power enough to do anything good, and that what
is bad is done anyhow."

EXcellent. Having a big identity thing going on about boldness.
I want to come visit True North sometime in May. Have any Sundays to grab lunch?
Facebook me. Thanks!
with a bit of experience, being married to suffolk (recently retired) LT , police officer, Please all, pray for our Police as I always insisted my husband (bring the JOB home) over 25 years, I know, they need OUR prayers, moral is LOW. Imagine having to make a decision in 1 sec and NOW being vedio taped and only 1
short part of the story told. How can they be the BOLD as they are asked to be? Pray too for the spouses who wait at the door, watching EVERY head light, hoping, praying, it’s them! they are home safe. because the RULE is… IF they call
all is OK, IF they Come in a car, It’s NOT. Aren’t our Police, in fact also Gardians as our Military and even Our Pastors? AS GOD said?Mere Human beings, with such awesome responsibilities, yes They need OUR Prayers and respect
more than so many could ever Imagine.
It surely is a changing world (here on earth) let’s NEVER forget who loses in the end YET for now prowls around hoping to kill us. They may wear the armor of a VEST but better yet, lets PRAY the ARMOR of OUR LOrd Jesus around them. and perhaps if only so many knew what they suffer much later from the memories alone.
