Pre-Easter

Greetings, ya’ll.

This week finds me a little more harried than usual, but I am very happy to be finished with the Deal or No Deal message series.  I’m also really happy with the initial results.  If you weren’t here, I challenged the entire church to tithe one time, on the same day, which was this past Sunday.

Our offerings tripled.  Tripled!!!  That’s amazing.  Holy cow, I can’t even begin to talk about it.  Not only because of the amazing things this could mean for our church (paying off our debt, hiring the staff we need, etc.) but also because it means God is really doing business with people in regard to their finances.

I know not everyone will continue to tithe weekly but even still, it’s really really incredible stuff.

In more immediate news, our Good Friday service is tomorrow night, the Lumina team is outside my office transforming the church lounge into a garden for their event this evening, and our first ever off-site worship service is just 3 days away.

I’m nervous and stressed but I’m optimistic.  I’ve never seen our people come together with such drive.  Everybody’s on point in their respective areas and we’ve had tons of additional volunteers sign up to help. Thanks gang, for being a truly amazing congregation of people.

I think it’s going to be a great Easter.

Ninja Comments on Writers’ Strike

Hey gang,

I decided it’s been way too long since we had some good ole’ fashioned hilarity here on the Right Thing.

I know the writer’s strike is over, but the Ninja throws down some mighty good smack talk.

For those of you who are unacquainted with Ask a Ninja, you’re in for a treat.

Enjoy.

Quickness

Hey Gang,

Just a quick check in here. My time away was amazing. Much needed and wonderful.

I had to hit the ground running on the way back in though, on account of Easter being so early this year. Pastor Mike and I are both completely slammed, but we’ve agreed it’s the most exciting time in our lives since the launch of the church! Very cool stuff. Stressful and demanding, but fun.

The bottom line is that there’s a lot at stake, but our call is to step out in faith on this one.

And that’s about it for now, goobers. My head is spinning and I’ve got a lot of stuff to do so I’ma jet.

Plus, I promised my four-year-old we’d play some of this goodness

Peace.

B
