The Art of the Apology, Part 2 – By Tiger Woods

tiger blog

Gang,

I don’t follow golf and I’m not much into celebrity gossip.  There is no way I could possibly care any less about who the hot new hollywood couples are and who dumped who for who and all that other pop culture pablum.

But once in a while, when someone credible gets caught up in some drama for which they are legitimately sorry.

If you’ve got a few minutes to kill, listen to what Tiger says.

Ben & Vesper: Indie Folk Hotness

Comments Off

Ben and Vesper are creative geniuses.  There.  I said it.

SF34-LuvInIdleness-160

Their stuff is not for everybody and they are obviously not looking to be the next mainstream ear candy pop duo, but there is some real gold in what they’re doing.

Vesper asked if I would do a review of their new EP here on the Right Thing and I respectfully declined because we’re friends and I didn’t want to get caught between honesty and our friendship in case I didn’t like the record.

It wouldnt’ have mattered.

LuvInIdleness is more for fans of Ben & Vesper‘s labelmates Sufjan Stevens and Danielson than for fans of Britney and the Black Eyed Peas.  But if you’re getting a little tired of the chaff they’re serving up on Z-100 these days and you’re willing to be a bit more adventurous, give Ben & Vesper a listen.

You can check ‘em out on their label’s website, www.soundsfamilyre.com or click here to hit them up on itunes.

Enjoy.

And perhaps more significantly, a company based in a country where face is of the utmost importance has issued a very public and very honest “mea culpa.”

Check it.

Death at Olympic Games and a Small Perspective Check

rings blog

So I cranked up the ol’ DVR last night to check out the opening ceremonies of the Olympic games.

Don’t get me started.

I don’t know where they found this tattooed, tap dancing vampire, but just in case you missed, let it suffice to say that there was some wacky stuff going on.
